Each of the four seasons has its good points and its bad points. For many, winter doesn’t have any good points. But that is merely the opinion of some. However, if you just survived a cold and snowy winter, we can see why it isn’t your favorite season.

Now summer, on the other hand, is one of the seasons few people complain about. And for good reason, especially if you enjoy outdoor activities. So for many, summer is the highlight of the year. There are several reasons why summer is the favorite season for many of you out there. Hage Energy, your air conditioner repair service in Houston, offers the reasons why people think summer is the best season ever.

Warm Weather

The number one reason why summer is so awesome is because of the weather. You have cold, rain and wind in the fall, winter and spring, but the summers are relatively dry and warm in most parts of the country.

The downside to this is when it gets too hot. But thanks to air conditioning, you never have to suffer a hot summer. Unless something happens to your AC, then you need to give us a call right away.

Longer Days

It wasn’t all that long ago when you would only see the sun a few hours a day. It was dark on your way to work and dark on your way home from work. You had to take advantage of the few hours of sunlight you got a day in the winter.

But now, the days are long, really long. In fact, it might be light out when you go to bed. That’s OK, all of that daylight is never wasted as you find plenty of outdoor activities to keep you busy.

Ice Cream

Let’s come clean on this one; ice cream is good any time of year. However, ice cream is especially cold and refreshing on a hot summer day. Ice cream also tastes better in the summer. At least, that is what we think.

Open Windows

Summer is the time of year that you open up your house by opening up the windows. Your windows have been shut all winter and the smell of your home is so stale even the dog is over it. That breeze wafting through your living room in the evening is magical.

Sunscreen and Chlorine

There are some people put off by the smell of chlorine. But make no mistake, chlorine is the dominant and most familiar smell at the local swimming pool. And sunscreen is totally a summer smell. You will rarely get a whiff of sunscreen in the winter in most parts of the country.

Blockbuster Movies

There are always pretty good movies that come out in the winter, especially around the holidays. But summer is when the blockbuster movies are due out. So if the heat is getting to you, have fun watching a blockbuster movie at the air-conditioned theater.

Yard Sales

You aren’t really that into shopping, but you enjoy a good garage sale. Summer is the time of year when homeowners put all of the junk they don’t want anymore in their driveway in hopes somebody will buy it.

Of course, you never know when you might land a killer deal while shopping garage sales.

No Socks

Socks are optional in the summer. Unless, of course, you are wearing a business suit and attending an important meeting with upper management.

Outdoor Concerts

There will be a great number of festivals and other activities that are scheduled in the summer. Many of these festivals will include live music. And while many of the bands are leftover from the 1970s and 1980s with no original members, they are still fun to see.

And then there are the big names in the music industry who will be touring and playing the big outdoor stadiums this summer. There are lots of shows you don’t want to miss.

No Clothes

Well, you do have to wear clothes in the summer, just not as many layers as in the winter. You can get by with just a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. No need for six layers of clothing covered up with a parka and snow pants.

You love summer, but also love to come home to a cool house. If your house isn’t cool and comfortable, call Hage Energy.
